Walt Disney World® Resort:
Epcot

EpcotExpect a very full day at EPCOT® (it stands for Every Person Comes Out Tired!), as it's really two parks in one, shaped like a giant figure '8'. The park is as much educational as it is entertaining, with the Disney characters never too far away! Future World (the first half of the figure '8') is an interactive technological playground that offers trips around the human body, journeys into space, voyages under the sea and quantum leaps back in time! Arrive early and head for Test Track - this will wake you up! Then head for Ellen's Energy Adventure a humorous and truly 'moving' theatre experience and Innoventions a hands-on expo of futuristic gadgets and gizmos. Mission Space is the newest and most intense thrill on offer. Real ‘G’s’ are created by a spin on this whirling centrifuge – not for the faint of stomach!

Ride in your very own clamobile over at The Seas with Nemo & Friends, you'll have a great time with Nemo, Dory and the gang – then head over to Turtle Talk With Crush for lots of interactive fun for little 'Dudes'! To stay ahead of the throng head to World Showcase (the second half of the '8') when it opens at 11am.  You can return to finish up Future World later in the day and catch our other recommendations like Soarin’, a simulated hang glider ‘flight’ with big music and big views of California and the west coast.

Around the World Showcase Lagoon you can eat, drink, dance and sing your way around the world in the space of a couple of hours! Each of the 11 nations represented has live entertainment so check the performance schedule or else you’ll miss out. A dining reservation for lunch or dinner in one of the excellent EPCOT restaurants is a must. The grand finale to the evening is IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth, a stunning combination of lasers, fireworks, fountains and special effects - do not miss it!

Insider Tips
  • A ‘gentler’ version of the Mission Space ride is now available for less hardy space travelers!
  • Mexico and the United Kingdom have outside dining areas which afford an excellent view of the World Showcase Lagoon - why not eat your dinner as you enjoy the show?
  • Take note of which way the wind is blowing and get 'up wind' - smoke from the fireworks can obscure your view.
  • Try a new cuisine – it’s not Morocco it’s Disney so take the opportunity to enjoy lots of new tastes without any potential after effects!
