Distraction Attractions include activities that, generally speaking, you can enjoy in a couple of hours. Many of these very creative diversions are also excellent if the weather is less than perfect, or if you simply don't want to embark on yet another big day out! They rarely involve any physical exertion and are aimed very much at a family audience.

What’s more most of them are in working order so every day at least one takes to the air for an in-flight display.


Daytona USA
Race fans enjoying a day at Daytona Beach need to make a pit stop at the world famous Daytona International Speedway, home of Daytona USA, the official attraction of NASCAR. Even if you miss the big race there's lots to do. ake part in the excellent 16 second Pit Stop challenge and take time to wander through the many informative and interactive exhibits.

Find the big wheel on International Drive and you've found Fun Spot! Family go-karting has been taken to new extremes here, with 4 different tracks all challenging drivers in different ways. Racing up and over and around and around with your derriere inches from the ground is a lot of fun!


Gatorland
It's well over 50 years since Owen Godwin opened his first roadside gator attraction for tourists coming down to Central Florida from the North. The good news for Gatorland is they're still coming and more than ever before. The self proclaimed 'Alligator Capital of The World', Gatorland is home to hundreds of Florida's original residents (the long scaly kind!).

The Holy Land Experience

There has been a lot of interest in the opening of Orlando's first 'living biblical museum'. It's not exactly your typical Orlando attraction but that seems to be the very reason so many people want to find out more. It's a mix of indoor and outdoor activities that take visitors back 2000 years to biblical times.


Titanic-The Experience
Boy will you be glad you flew to Orlando. The only permanent exhibit of the ill-fated liner, Titanic- The Exhibition takes up where the film left off. Character actors tell the stories of those who survived and those who did not.

The whole concept behind the Orlando Science Center involves a hands-on place of learning, where kids in particular can discover the world of science in fun and interesting surroundings. It's the ideal family outing, and though somewhat removed from the main tourist areas, the center is still within easy reach.


WonderWorks
WonderWorks is not hard to spot! This upside down oddity on International Drive (the result of a run in with a tornado, so they say!) contains dozens of interactive games and displays that are fun and educational for the whole family. All areas of the 3-story building are very hands-on and challenge kids both mentally and physically.
